your last one is def your best, my suggestions would be-
use clipping mask's brushes, c4ds
whenever you use a c4d, take your time and experiment to see witch place looks the best.
whenever you use brushes make sure it has a flow with your render and whole sginature
whenever you use a clipping mask, again make sure it flows with the signature.
if you would really really like one i might make a tutorial for you, if you want 1
